Good day to all,

My name is AJ Paradis. I am new to the art of bladesmithing, having only finished one knife so far but have many ideas and ambitions for this profession in the future. I've been tinkering with blacksmithing for a while now but decided to focus on blades as I have really enjoyed the process so far and am looking forward to seeing where it leads!

Thank you and have a great day!

AJ

Welcome to the forum AJ.

I see you're from Maine and dabble in blacksmithing. You haven't by chance been fraternizing with a couple of characters by the names of Nick Rossi and Derrick Glaser have you? <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Welcome AJ. It is good to have you in the ABS and here on the forum. Have you been to the New England School of Metalwork?

I have not attended classes there yet but I hope to in the future. I called the other day and spoke to the blacksmithing instructor who gave me the info on the Intro to Bladesmithing class.

I have not met them yet but if I'm not mistaken they are the instructors at the New England School of Metalwork correct? I plan on taking a class or two there in the future.

Yes AJ, Dereck Glaser is the school administrator and blacksmithing instructor and Nick Rossi is a JS and the resident bladesmithing instructor. Good people. Great schedule of classes and a very nice shop.

Excellent, thank's for the information! I believe I spoke with Dereck on the phone the other day when I asked about classes. I live about 40 minutes from the school so it's not a bad drive thankfully.
