Greetings to everyone from Louisiana. I started making knives over 25 years ago. I started out making stock removal only. After a few years, I decided to start forging knives. I was originally inspired to forge blades because I wanted to eventually make damascus blades and I like banging on hot steel! At the time the makers I looked up too were guys like Bill Moran, Steve Schwarzer and Daryl Meier. Steve actually walked me through, over the phone, on setting up my first gas forge back then. In the late 80’s or early 90’s I saw a knife that Daryl Meier made with an American Flag mosaic. I was blown away.
In the last few years I have found myself forging more knives and making damascus blades. I don’t know why or what took me so long to join the ABS. I did take a break from making blades for about 4 years for personal reasons. In the last 3 years I have been hard at it. So I also decided to join the ABS and get serious about this art. Thanks! Tony
