Hello everybody,

My name is Francesco and I have been an ABS apprentice for almost 2 years but only now I am starting having a little time to actually look at the forum. I hope I can contribute to the forum with the little knowledge I have.

I am also a violin maker/restorer graduated from the International School for Luthierie "Antonio Stradivary" in Cremona, Italy.

Last but not least, I am a passionate climber so if anyone needs a buddy...

Take care

Thank you everyone! I have to confess, it's pretty exciting to have the time to see what's out of my workshop(s), finally!

Hi Francesco,

Nice to see you again. Post up some pics when you get them. Impressive education credits you have there. I have an antique violin that is in desperate need of repair......... <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

As for rock climbing, I don't know if you know, but Florida is the flattest state in the US. I think the tallest point is like 300 feet above sea level (not counting stuff in Disney World!) If you ever venture out west, I'm in Arizona and there's lots of great climbing here. Closer to Florida, try Red River Gorge in Kentucky or New River Gorge in West Virginia.

Thank you, guys. Joshua, I knew about Florida way before moving here. But unfortunately, sometimes life moves regardless of what we want... there are climbing gyms and people willing to travel for a good climb, luckily. I love Arizona's sandstone, I used to live in Vegas, Red rock canyon was 20 min from my house!

About your violin, you can PM if you need it to be looked at...

Take care

Francesco, I am trying to learn how to make violins, and I've been learning to make knives for a while. I also make blade steel from the black sand we have in the desert out here in Arizona.

I have a sister who is married to an Italian and lives in Tivoli, outside of Rome.

What a small world!
