Hi my name is Patrick I live in beautiful Kilkenny in Ireland.i am relatively new to knife making but I got the bug a few years ago and have been making knives full time for two years.i am passionate about my new trade and trying my hardest to seek and aquire as much information into the art as possible.i am going to attend a course with Gil Hibben in Louisville then and travelling to see Murray Carter for his journey man course I am very excited to meet both of them and expand my knowledge from such skilled artists I will be spending 2 months in the States traveling and trying to gather as much information as possible any advice on people to see or places to visit whilst I am there would be appreciated I am sure there are some fantastic people and places to see relating to knives and there history.

So I have few weeks to spend travelling to Oregon and seeing what I can fit in whilst on my journey and a few weeks after to have a look around.Still thinking of my route any input would be appreciated
Thanks again and take care

As you will be at Gill's in Kentucky, you will not be all that far from the Blade Show in Atlanta the first week end of June.
If you can make that - you should.

Patrick, If you're going to pass through Little Rock, Arkansas, please stop for a visit at the Historic Arkansas Museum. I am usually on duty Monday through Friday. We might just fire up the forge.

Welcome Patrick. Great to have you in the ABS and here on the forum. As Karl says the Blade Show should definitely be on your list as well as Lin's offer. Spending the day with Lin in the forge and at the museum would be a great opportunity. If you get to Blade I would like to meet you. Enjoy your excursion to the USA.
