Hello, my name is Wesley Hartzell. I am 17 years old and I started knife making about 3 years ago after reading a book from the library called

"The Fifty Dollar Knife Shop". I was immediately hooked and began making knives using the stock removal method. After a little while I decided

to try forging a knife and found that was my favorite way to make a knife. I have found a wealth of knowledge on the Forums and decided that it was time to join.

I craft the whole knife from blade forging to leather sheath.

I try to make each of my knives better than the last one and hope to become a Journeyman Smith and possibly a Master Smith in the future.

I have included a picture of a knife that I made just a little while ago,

it's not forged but will give you an idea of my work.

The blade is 1080 and the handle is hunter orange G-10 With SS tubing.

Critiques welcome.

Thank you Mr. Rea. I live in central Ilinois.

Not many bladesmiths live very close to my area that I am aware of.

Is that what hello from Illinois means? lol

Went right over my head. As you see I may not be the brightest bulb in the pack.

Again, post pictures and get this thing started. Glad you're here.
