I put introducing myself on fast track so that it only took a couple of years to actually do it. I plead interference by Nature, as I was interrupted by a tree (130 years old) slicing my new shop nearly in half during Hurricane Sandy. Since I still maintain my day job teaching at a Medical School, I have just slowly gotten fully functional again.
Then I was at the point where I had borrowed enough shop time from my friends so as to have blades to be judged for Journeyman at the last show, but I became a grandfather at the same time, and my wife shifted my priorities.
I consider myself to be Daryl Meier's oldest living apprentice, as I took my first Smithing course with him at Peter's Valley in 1987. In another 27 years I should be half as good as he is now.
Glad to be Here Sandy Klein
