Hello everyone!

My name is Aaron Zoltan Virag, I live, work, and play in a small town on Canada's west coast.

I joined the ABS because I really appreciate what it stands for and I want to be a part of that and help any way I can. And I love learning, so what better place! The wealth of knowledge that is shared on these pages is amazing, and the supportive manner that it is presented in is very refreshing. That being said, a very big thank you to all!

I've been welding as a career for the last fifteen years, and dabbled in blacksmithing during that time as well due to my father being a blacksmith for a number of years and the fact that smashing hot metal around is quite fun! That, coupled with a creative desire that had yet to be satisfied, has led me to bladesmithing. When I finished the rough shaping of the handle on my first knife and gripped it in my hand, I knew I was hooked. THAT was satisfaction. I aspire to take my skills in bladesmithing as far as I can, and am looking forward to taking an intro course as soon as finances allow and hopefully be able to pass along any knowledge I have one day as I really enjoy teaching anyone that's interested, anything I know.

Again, thanks for everything I've learned from everyone on here so far. Hopefully get to meet a few of you legends at a show sometime soon!

All the best,

Aaron

Welcome to the American Bladesmith Society and the ABS Forum. You joined the American Bladesmith Society for the same reasons that I did.

Ask any questions that you have about bladesmithing techniques and our experienced and very talented Moderators and members will answer your questions. As you can see our mission is education.

I usually roll through the valley a few times a year. I was living in Peachland before I moved out here. I'll let you know the next time I'm headed that way. And yes, awesome backdrop for sure! I need to install windows in the shop!! Or maybe not as I daydream way too much as it is..... <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//rolleyes.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
