My bladesmithing journey is an odd one. A former co-worker talked me into forging my first knife about twelve years ago. After he died, I had no interest in forging. Recently, a new co-worker wanted me to demonstrate the process to his physical science classes. When I did, I became reinvigorated. I've forged and finished about four knives in the last six months. I have really enjoyed and learned a lot from reading the posts on the forum. You guys do some beautiful work. Thanks for the tips and information. Gray Haynes

Welcome the forum Gray. I'm from LA too. That's Lower Arkansas to those who are not well traveled. May as well post up a photo or two if you get a chance.

Welcome to the ABS. Maybe you can come to the Hammer-inn this weekend at the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing in Washington Arkansas.

Meet a lot of good people, and learn a lot.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I will get a few photos posted soon. I hope to finish up one blade after work today. I had plans to go to the hammer in this weekend, but work intervened at the last minute. I have to keep my day job to support my hobby.
