Hello everyone,

So happy to be a new member of ABS. My name is Michael West and I teach at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, SD where we have one of the few metallurgical engineering programs in the U.S. The science of forging and bladesmithing has had a profound, positive impact on our program and has helped get students excited about what they are learning.

We are eager to learn from the real experts in ABS.

I forgot to mention, that is a picture of me having the honor of holding a sword made by some of our metallurgical engineering students.

Welcome to the ABS and forum Michael. It's always good to have a serious metallurgist hanging around!
