Hello everyone. I recently decided to join the ABS and begin the journey toward Master Smith. I look forward to the challenges and rewards of this process and hope to be an asset to this community. Thanks in advance to all those who patiently share their time and expertise with those such as myself.

Yup, great place to be a part of. Not sure where in MT you are, but there are a bunch of really impressive makers in your state. Hopefully you can take advantage of that. Getting to take a class or some shop time with a great maker can seriously flatten the learning curve. Welcome and enjoy the journey <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />.

Justin, I am currently located in Eureka Montana. I used to live in the Boise, Idaho area and frequently travel there via hwy 95. Sandpoint is a beautiful area.

Jeremy,I have some class time scheduled with MS Ed Caffrey in Great Falls later this month. JS Steve Kelly is close to me as well, although I have yet to visit his shop or meet him in person.

I will try to get my profile in order soon, lol.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Kelly I don't see myself making it up to Eureka to often, but if you find yourself in the Sandpoint area look me up and we'll forge a couple blades.

Thank you for the invitation. I will definitely keep that option in mind. Eureka isn't really on the way to anywhere, lol.

Kelly-

Glad to hear you're getting with Ed-you're in for a treat. He's a great guy as well as a great teacher. Steve's also great. You might try to get in touch with him soon and ask about his hammer in. I believe it's a few months away at his place for a weekend. I went last year and had a great time. If you're not too far away, it'd be time well spent.

Kelly,

Welcome to the forum. I spent my first 11 years as a bladesmith in Montana. I lived mostly in Billing but I also lived a few years in Missoula and Helena. I wish I still lived up there now. Anyway, welcome and do not hesitate to ask any questions.
