Greetings all:

I joined the ABS on June 21, my 39th wedding anniversary, and I'm thrilled to be here. While attending the Introduction to Bladesmithing Course at the New England School of Metal Work, the instructor, Mike Williams, MS, description of the ABS and how this forum is run convinced me to join. I completed the course today and after running my 5160 test knife through its performance test, my definition of superior performance has been defined, so to speak. My conclusion was that the class and the school was top notch and professionally run. Mike Williams is a great instructor IMHO.

I've been making stock removal knives for almost five years: fighters, hunters, camp knives, EDC, bowies, skinners, daggers, and Loveless styles. I work primarily in CPM D-2, CPM-154, CPM-3V, D-2 and W-2 with a hamon. I sell my knives through a variety of venues: My website, Les Robertson, Bladeforums.com. I retired from my day job a year ago, bought a house on Silver Lake in Bucksport, Maine, built a new knifeshop, and moved in about 1 1/2 months ago after selling our home near Washington, DC. Needless to say it's been a busy year and I'm really behind in my orders. <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//sad.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I look forward to learning a lot of good stuff here and elevating my work to a new level.

V/R,

TK

Welcome to the American Bladesmith Society and the ABS Forum. Our mission is education and you will find that this is the place to ask questions about bladesmithing and receive advice from some of the most talented makers in the business.

You certainly had a great instructor at a great school.
