G'day all, from sunny Canberra.
I go by the handle Baz and I get around on the net as Blades By Baz and Builds By Baz.
I'm a former soldier and veteran of the Royal Australian Army, 16 years service.
I make movie props like Iron Man suits in steel, full sized spacecraft and am into astronomy, the great outdoors and gold prospecting.
I have been making knives for over ten years and for the last five years, I have been instructing bladesmithing at Tharwa Valley Forge here in Canberra.
I decided to pull the trigger on ABS membership a few months ago, as I thought it about time I get my journeyman. We recently had a visit from Neels Van Den Berg from Africa, so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to make and test a Journeyman performance knife in front of him. It was just a practice run, as I haven't been a member long enough to make it official, but it passed with flying colours.
Onward and upward, I have three years to sort out the rest.
Cheers,
Baz.
G'day and welcome Baz. Glad to have you aboard. You probably know Jackson. I look forward to seeing your work and meeting you in person in the future.
Brion
G'day Brion. Yes Jacko and I worked together here at Tharwa Valley Forge for about 3 years before he moved on.
Notifications just spinning Brion. Forum is a bit glitchy too. Kerps dropping to the bottom of each ABS page every time I move from page to page.
I had three or four other posts on this thread, with pictures, but it seems they have all disappeared. The only ones I can see are the gold prospecting ones.
The images were just imgur links mate. All resized to 920px on the long side.
Hey Baz, pleasure to meet you! I'm new here same as you. I can see on your website you made amazing work so far. So cool you joined to ABS!
Cheers
David
Thanks David. I've been pretty inactive here, but hoping my big projects free up so i can get to know you lot better.
Baz.
This was my last one. All steel. Took it into the kids hospitals and did some stuff for Starlight Children's Foundation, among others.
