Hey everyone, my name is Grant Pahls and I'm from Little Rock. I started blacksmithing about one year ago and have been interested in knives/swords/sharp things and the sort for much, much longer than that. Currently I am in graduate school at UAMS so I don't get too much time to forge but so far I've snuck in a few blades. I've had the pleasure of forging with Lin Rhea a few times now and have learned a great deal from him. He made the mistake of telling me to "not hesitate to ask him for help" so needless to say I've been inundating him with all sorts of newbie questions haha. I look forward to talking and learning from you guys.

Grant,
Welcome to the ABS and the Forum. You've got a great teacher in Lin!! You'll learn a lot from him! Let us know what we can do to help you out!
Thank you all for your kind replies! I feel very fortunate that Lin has offered me a chance to learn from him and plan on soaking up everything I can from not only him but everyone else here. Lin recently just told me a way to pseudo cold forge a brass guard to help with gaps which has made a world of difference on the stainless cake cutter/server combo I'm making for my wedding in November. Thankfully through all the help I'm receiving every knife I'm making I'm learning a ton and getting slightly better; so far so good haha
