The Red St. Cyr Award will highlight new honors slated for the 2013 American Bladesmith Society Knife Expo set for January 25-26, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas.

The awards will be for the Expo's new forged knife competition. In addition to the Red St. Cyr Award for Best In Show, exhibiting ABS bladesmiths will be eligible to enter knives and win awards in the categories of Best Bowie, Best Hunter, Best Damascus, and Best Folder.

The Red St. Cyr Award is named in honor of Master Smith Red St. Cyr who passed away this year. Red not only made great knives but was a valued leader and friend to many in the ABS and elsewhere in the knife community.
