I'm new to bladesmithing and about to do my first heat treat.

I've read lots of info on what quenchant to use with what steels.

But a couple of things I haven't seen is how much quenchant one needs

to have in the tank for it to do its job. Secondly, what are good sizes and types

of quenchant tanks. Horizontal or Vertical? Advice on what one can buy to use for a quench tank

would be very helpful. I'm not sure if I could make something leak proof to use.
