Hello all, I recently purchased 5 gallons of Chevron 70 from a local distributor and now I am not sure they gave me the right product. It is labeled Chevron 70 but the color is really dark. Should it be that dark or more of a honey color? Thanks

Most of the oils on the market are that disturbing dark color, I cannot remember what the Chevron oils should look like but I am pretty sure it is right. Only certain oils seem to come in he nice clear amber color, such as some of the specialized fast ones. I got spoiled on Parks/Heat Bath and got used to the clear oils and then when I started also working with Houghton's oils I was shocked and repulsed by the dark burnt motor oil look, but the stuff worked fine and I got over it. If it were food that looked like that and still tasted delicious I probably would complain, but with a quench oil... ehhh... <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//wink.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
