Hello ! I have in mind the stupid idea of making a wire inlayed flutted handle dagger...so i went on the forum (i saw Jean-Louis regel's tutorial but don't totally got it), google, youtube...to get more informations about that, i understood the overall principle but the thing that i don't really understand is how to lay out the "retention holes" for the wire on the hidden side of the handle can i just put equidistant holes or they should have an apropriate location compared to the blade and guard ?
Somewhere on this site was an entire Quillon Dagger build by Steve Culver, and for some reason I can not find it now.
Maybe someone else knows where it is?

There is a 3 parts pdf on google on how to make them also by steve culver but he use a special jig that i don't have acess to so...if anyone have some tips ^^
And for the rest of the dagger i use the golden ratio to design her like kevin cashen recomend in a video on the abs channel

If you can make a Dagger - you can make a jig.

Karl you got me...i don't know if i can make the dagger but i have been a bit lazy this time because yes i can make the jig <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//rolleyes.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Mr. Culver's tutorial is helpful indeed. However, it is very possible to do without the jig. You can lay it all out by eye if need be, and it works just fine. It's a bit slower, but for one handle, it is probably faster than building a jig.
To hold the handle while shaping, a C-clamp works well enough to hold the piece end-to-end.
Yes steve's pdf is helpfull ! I don't have the level to do it by eye sadly..i will ask more precisions to jean louis regel if maybe he have the time to respond to me
