Axis Deer Horn plus Jaw bone
Picture....Link
Something interesting .
The teeth in the jaw bone were loose. After stabilizing the teeth are solid in the bone. Both were cleaned and leaned toward white. They were dyed and then stabilized. The finished color you will have some control. You could dye it red if you wanted to. Right now I am putting together a secret recipe for dyeing the antler and then stabilizing it.
Axis Deer Antler varies.
Major details.
Some had very fine cracks that are wider now.
Color varies for many reason.
How porous...base starting color. what the deer ate (His diet)...etc.
Personally I like the Moose but the Axis is about the same with a thicker rim.
