Is It Homogenous Or Pattern Welded?

I have a need for larger dimensional stock than I have on hand for a cleaver. I have a bunch of 3/8" x 1.5" 1095 stock that I plan to forge weld together then flatten to get the width I need. I got to thinking about what to call the new stock I just made so my question is how this new stock would be classified? I don't think it is pattern welded since it is all 1095 and from the same bar. Also along those lines I don't think it would be a laminated steel since it is from the same bar of 1095. Would it still be a homogenous steel? What would you call it?

I did up a large stack of 15N20 with a kerosene weld for a hunting knife.

And, to be used as the outside layer on my Damascus billets.

I just call it - 15N20.

Yep, Karl said it. Pretty much just homogenous 1095. No other steels in the mix, just 1095.

Good luck

Thanks Karl and Brion! Karl I bought one of your 15n20 knives at Blade this year and that is what gave me the idea of making the size I needed with what I already had so I wouldn't have to buy it already sized right.
