I picked up an Anvil at a public auction that was very rusty. I cleaned it up with WD40 and a wire brush. I found it was stamped 125 Lbs and SWEDEN, not made in Sweden. I would think that Sweden would be using metric. The rebound is great, rings like a bell, and the face is all but perfect. Out of curiosity what do I have? I rubbed soap stone over the lettering so it would show up better.
The overall shape and look lead me to believe it is a Kolashwa, or an anvil made by the same company....possibly a forerunner of the Kolashwa brand of anvils.
I'm kind of an anvil snob.... and demand that any anvil literally have a mirror-finished face.... so IMO the face should be milled or surface ground, and you'd have a super nice user anvil.
Here's a pic of my 509lb Peter-Wright... cleaned up with the face polished and ready to work on.
