I meant maybe we could expand upon some of the popular topics, such as Damascus making by asking how to make advanced Damascus patterns or how to use CAD to design handles. Generally, ask for more specific information.

Something to remember; although these topics are posted on a monthly basis, the threads are never closed. You can add to any of the TOTM threads at any time. Please feel free to do so. The Topic of the Month Sub Forum, is becoming the easiest to search reference area on the ABS Forum. If you have some information that you want to post on the ABS Forum, it may be a good idea to see if there is a TOTM thread that it would fit under and post it there.

So if I go back a couple of pages and add comments to a thread let's say from two years ago, does that thread move to page one, or does it stay in the back pages? Never mind, Ill try it and see what happens.

Not sure anyone else would care much for this suggestion, but I'd be interested in business related topics. Things like what warrantee do you offer and how do you go about honoring it (was the knife abused or not, etc.), unfortunate experiences with customers or dealers that have changed how you do things, part time sales vs full time makers and differences (if any) in running the business.

I'm not too sure those ideas fit well with the ABS mission, so I completely understand if they would be tossed out. Just my morning ramblings...

Actually, this is a good idea. I second this motion.

I would like to see a topic on hammer ins. What topics do atendees want to see. Of the normal topics, what do you like and what would you like to see more of? A topic of this nature would help those who organize the event, help the demonstrators cater to what the audience would like to see, and help insure that the participants get the most from the event

I agree with your idea for a Topic of the Month. We need input from our ABS members on what demonstrations they want to see at ABS Hammer-In.

I was going to start a discussion thread on video making. What cameras, lighting, editing software, audio syncing, etc. that people use, but I can't seem to figure out where to post such a question. Maybe it would make a good topic o'the month

Joshua,

I think the video discussion is a great suggestion. We have a Photography sub-forum. I think this subject would be fine there.

I have also added your suggestion to the list of potential topics for the Topic of the Month. I'm sure that I will post it up at some point. But if you are interested in starting a thread at this time, go ahead and start it in the Photography forum.

Thanks!!

There has been a lot of interest of late with the inaugural ICCE Show. Maybe a good topic would be "What would you like to see from the ABS there?" and just as importantly "What would the ABS like to see from each of us?".
