Joining Abana also exposes you to a lot of good blacksmithing knowledge. I have learned lot from smiths there about what part of the heat to do what - i.e. Forging at the beginning of the heat but planishing toward he end of the same heat. I think Lin and everyone else here are right - the more watching good smiths work and the more hammering, the better.
