I would like to point out a feature of our forum that needs to be used more. That is the Gallery. In order to take full advantage of it, we might click on a photo at the top and just look around at the features, such as the comment feature. It would be a good place to not only comment, but to ask questions about the knife in the photo, about it's construction, materials, methods, etc. I think some good conversations would be possible and sometimes we all would like to know just how the maker pulled it off. Or we might want to know why he decided to use particular materials or what steps did he follow in the forging process. When you click on "Gallery", you will be directed to several choices, Members' Gallery, Events Gallery, etc to browse and include yourself in conversation, ask questions, or comment on the photo.
To me, this would be in keeping with the ABS mission, education being highly stressed. This site is the online place to ask members of the ABS the how's and why's of forging. I believe this and other features of the site being used to its fullest would prove to be a unique online source of information as well as to showcase your latest creation.
Dont forget to "sign in" at the top of the page. Have fun. Lin <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
