I'm sure some of you have built your own web site. I want to, and am looking for software/program recommendations, and opinions. User/edit friendly is a must. Thanks everyone. Dan
I've been fooling around with Weebly.com. It's pretty simple. I haven't decided if I will stick with it or try something else.

Thanks Dale,
I tried weebly, and really liked it, so I used it. Thanks again.
I have built a couple of sites using the standard soft ware that came on my Mac Book. Very simple and literally paid for the purchase of the Mac Book. Professionally built sites can get expensive. Couple of things to keep in mind while building, keep it simple (the less reading the better) , make navigation easy (keep number of links down as well), Look at other websites you like and figure out what makes them appealing (the same way you look at knives).
Technical... web searches are based off current content and repeating relevant words (ie knife, Damascus, Bladesmith etc). The more often you update you website the more likely it is to get hits from google. That can be tricky because most sites are an informational brochure (never changing info about the author) The best way to have changing content is a blog. You can attach a blog to your site very easily, it will effect your traffic tremendously. You can start a free blog at Google or Word press. Also Face book is another easy way to keep ever updating info.
I'm no expert but have been maintaing my own sites for the last 7 years. My sites can be seen at www.thecustomcoach.com (this site is finished) and www.ironmanknives.com (work in progress) My knife site still needs many up dates so I have not attached a blog or face book yet.
Hope some of this helps
Steve
