I attended an event a while back and asked if anyone had any interesting stories about ABS founding member Bill Bagwell. My request was shunned. If anyone has any interesting stories which that are fit to share, please post or email.
Seems strange to deny a founding member respect at an ABS event.
As a teenager, I grew up reading Bagwell's articles in Soldier of Fortune magazine. I understand that Bagwell's opinions (pertaining to knives of course) may not "jive" but is this so dangerous that the mention of his name is heresy?
Can someone clear the air, and explain? - Respectfully, Jason Cohenour
I want to purchase "Big Knives", by Bill Bagwell for my collection.
If anyone has a copy to please drop me a line. [email protected]
Attached is "MyBelle", Bagwell inspired, and made in Louisiana.
Hello Jason,
I have been pouring over the ABS archives to digitize them and just happened to recently encounter the correspondence for our Board of Directors during the time that Mr. Bagwell was active. Let me say that I am sorry if you encountered any hard feelings regarding Mr. Bagwell, the time frame we are discussing was so far in the past that I find it inexplicable that anybody would be hanging on to any hard feelings. I have Bill's letter of resignation from the ABS, submitted on October 22, 1984. Forty-one years is a long time ago and more than enough years, for the few to remember, to resolve any feelings about it. There is really no acrimony reflected in the letters at the time, simply a difference of opinion on the direction of the ABS.
A+
Ty Kevin !!
