Dean, You are talking about the front spacer, right? If so, take a look back at post #12 and you will see the spacer off the blade and then on the blade. I did nothing to it from one picture to the next. I think you are forgetting the step that is filed in the back of the ricasso, top and bottom.

Yep, step forgotten. I have only made a few hidden tang knives as I came from the stock removal process of knife making. So happy I asked the question before I tried to file that spacer down to the blade!

Do you silver weld any of the spacers?

I sometimes do silver solder but I did not on this one. It is fit tight and "JB welded". The fit is mechanical so the epoxy is just to hold it while fitting the parts behind it.
