Forged And Hot Punched Guard

Hey ABS friends!

I did this video in preparation for my "Off the Grid" no electricity knifemaking class. This guard is mild steel. While it won't be for every esthetic, I think they look great of a forge finish knife! Hope you enjoy!

I like it! I noticed that you were placing what appeared to be chunks of carbon in the hole as you punched it. Would you mind elaborating?

Don't mean to butt in but I believe its coal dust to keep the punch from sticking.

Thanks, Lin. I assumed that it was for lubrication but hadn't seen that done and had to ask.
