To get a little activity in the folding knife section how about a slip joint build along. If we can get a few makers to build the same knife with photos, descriptions, and answers to questions I believe the different methods used will be a tremendous help to those wanting to learn to make slip joints.
I have several patterns to pick from and believe a single blade or a 2 blade jack knife would be the easiest to work with. I can scan and email a pattern or make a metal copy to mail out and have that passed around for those interested to make a copy before we get started.
Someone pick a pattern so we can get started.
This sounds like an awesome idea. I just completed my first Damascus billet, blade and folder last weekend for my Dad. It was a linerlock so a slipjoint would be cool too.
Neat idea Craig! I might join in. I'd love to have some coaching and learn some of this stuff. I'd like to make a modest sized utility pocket knife for my daughter to carry in her purse.
A two blade slip joint sounds awesome, but I wonder if a single blade would be more doable for a beginner such as myself? Maybe you could post a few pix or sketches of some different styles and options?

The Saddle Horn folder patterns in your photos look perfect for the project. Count me in and thank you for taking the time to guide us through the steps of this project.

Something in the 3.5" range might be good.
Those look great! I like them all, especially the first one. The second one might be a better place to start though, or the third one? The sleek slender white one looks pretty sexy too though. Hmmm....
This is such a cool idea. I really like the designs you posted up. I've not yet built a folder, but have a couple liner lock designs I'm wanting to get to. Too many projects... I look forward to seeing the knives that come out of this thread.

I agree totally with the gentleman above. Great looking set of knives for sure too.
Count me in. I may be slow as my shop time is very limited. I am up for whatever pattern.
Craig, thanks for getting this project started.

Looks like five for now, I will make up some patterns to send out. E-mail me with an address and I will get them in the mail next week.
Email sent. Craig, thank you for putting this together. This really sounds like a fun project.

Craig, I am up for the challenge as I have never tried a folder. My shop time is limited so I may fall behind some on the build. But sounds like a great learning experience. Landon
Email sent also. Thanks for putting this on Mr. Brewer
