What scotchbrite pad do you use on your blades for a satin finish?

Do you finish your fittings using the same scotchbright, or do you use something different?

Russell, I usually do not use scotchbrite on my blades. I prefer the hand rubbed finish at 600 or higher grit. I do use scotchbrite on my fittings sometimes. I use the white pads which are like 1500 grit. You have to get these at auto body supply stores or order them. You also have to buy a whole box which runs around $35. I think there are 20 pads to the box. But the box will last you a long time. The pads are 6x9". I take the fittings to 1200 grit then use the scotchbrite. I also use it on handles.

Thanks, Brion.

I have never used scotchbrite pads. I have always used waterproof paper. I can see how the pads would work better on the final finish on the guard and handle material.

I'm going to try your method.

Thanks Again, Brion!
