I would love to see some pictures of work from newbies. The pictures usually posted by our members are just outstanding works of art and function! However they make a newbie like me feel so humble. Let's share some of our first knives or project knives please. Below is my first forged knife, I have been making knives via stock removal for a few years but this is my first knife out of my forge. Newbies please share some of you pictures.

Here is my first try at a traditional Japanese Tanto. I have other pics but I really like the way that this one turned out. I hand polished the blade, hand sanded the saya and tsuka all made out of one piece of wood.

A progression of pieces.

From around 8 years ago to just last month.

I'm a slow learner.

Here's a Mini EDC Concealable Clip Point that I've started to make, and friend of mine graciously took much better pictures than I can do. He even restricted the pictures to the knife's 'good side' that doesn't show my messed up touch mark.

This was also one of the first Kydex sheaths I made as well.

Hi my name is Ryan Larson. I've been making knives for a while now.

I am a lurker and info sponge. I don't do much posting because I feel like I don't have much to offer but I do like to listen to the "seasoned" smiths. That being said here's some of my attempts at knives, oldest to newest...

This is one of the knives I am currently working on its a twist pattern ball bearing Damascus, with black Walnut handle and a 416 stainless guard. I am currently working on a few finishing touches to the guard and handle and it will be ready for glue up and a pin.

Dan, Thank you very much.

Looking at my first posts on the Bladesmith forum board I have been at this a decade.

Like I said.

I'm a slow learner.

I joined the Abs last year.

I will continue to work to tighten this work up till I feel I can submit for the JS test.

Welcome to the forum guys. Great jobs on your early knives.

Jesse, I like that little EDC.

I see that we have several new member lately and I encourage you all to get busy and show your work. We have to start somewhere.

Evan, That's gonna be a nice one.
