Please have one, maybe two blades (FINISHED) with you to start the guard and handle class at the New England School of Metalwork. Unless you are attempting a dog bone, I would think you can finish a knife up in that 5 day class. Again, you might bring a second blade or even a third to discuss for when you get back to your shop.
Dereck and Nick will have some supplies but they will be the basic stuff, brass and N/S guard stock, pin material, micarta, wood, etc. If you have specific material you want to use, please bring it with you.
I look forward to the class. Please holler at me if you have questions beforehand. 870-942-6419 days calls or text.

This was the last day of the week long Handles and Guards class at NESM, and instructor Lin Rhea entitled this class photo " A Tired Bunch", but you can be sure that they learned a great deal.
Kelly Bennett had to leave the class before the above photo.

Thanks for posting the photos Dan. The class went great. The young man to the left of me completed the handles on 4 knives. I congratulate all of you students.
Derrick and Nick run a fine shop and we're very helpful. The NESM school will get even better now that the new blacksmith/blade smith shop is done. Congratulations on the new facility.
