I had a wonderful time at the New England School Of Metalwork this past 2 week. It was quite a drive for me, 16 hours, but it was worth it. To start off, the shop is excellently equipt and plenty of space to move around and all the tools you could need. I want to thank Don and Burt for a GREAT class. You guys were Excellent and put it out there in a way that made it easy to understand and take home in my brain. Having 2 different teachers, Don taught week1 and Burt taught week2, really brought 2 different ways that things could be done and I found myself incorporating little bits of both to make a style of working that suited me. Derek Glaser, the head guy, was great to work with. He has such an artist attitude towards everything and he runs the place very smooth and keeps everything moving forward, Thanks Derek. Also Hunter who works for Derek was a great help and ready to jump in if something needed to be found or moved or just have a good conversation... Well although it sounds like an ad for NESM.. its not.. i just had a great time and met great people and have no complaints...

Zoe and all the students, the first Introduction class was a real treat. All of the students made the most of the fantastic opportunity to learn from two great Master Bladesmiths. Out of the 6 students 4 of them passed their "practice" performance test, congratulations!!. I can hardly wait until our next Introduction class which is November 8-19, and don't forget about the Handles and Guards class this July 26-30 with Greg Neely. I want to congratulate all the students and thank Don and Burt for a job well done !!
