Introduction to Bladesmithing

The Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil Bladesmith School in Troy, Ohio has scheduled a two week Introduction to Bladesmithing. The class will be offered from August 19 to August 30, 2019. There is still room in this class, so please call or email Joel Worley, 937-638-9518, [email protected] as early as possible. The instructor the first week will be Master Smith J. W. Randall from Louisiana and the second week the instructor will be Master Smith Kevin Cashen from Michigan. Class fee is $850.00 (fee does not cover the registration for the Mid American Bladesmithing Symposium thru the weekend August 23-25, however Butch said students are 1/2 price or $30.00 pre-registered and $35 on site. Again, you will need to contact Joel Worley to register for the class and the ABS for the weekend symposium.

The ABS Mid American Bladesmithing Symposium is August 23 – 25, 2019, SOFA building Miami County Fairgrounds, Troy Ohio. There will demonstrations on forging, grinding and heat treating. I am still working on the complete schedule for the weekend and will post it soon. You can register on the ABS website for the weekend symposium or call Cindy Sheely, ABS office, 419-832-0400.
