I look forward to meeting you Tucker. I will probably bring a couple for you all to look at. We are going to have a good time.

I will be there. Bringing only a couple as I really just started. Got 2 in the trash can and one that looks promising.

Awesome, I'm not the only one going! I'm excited to meet some other bladesmiths. I'm planning on bringing a couple kitchen knives, my little brother is a chef so I mainly make kitchen knives. I have one Pattern welded folder in the works but I'm doubtful that will be ready in time.

I'm freaking excited to finally be taking this class!

You are fortunate to have Master Smiths Mike Williams and Brion Tomberlin as instructors for this class.

Mike Williams has written an excellent article on preparing for this class that I highly recommend, Click: Preparing for Class

Hi Brion, would it be a good idea or not to bring some knives I'm working on. Or just finished knives?

Tucker I know the class will be beneficial for you. When Brion looks over your knives you will learn some things. When I say this it's not at all critical of you or your work,it's just that I have had Brion look at one of mine and know the detail he goes into looking at them.

Having an MS like Brion or Mike Williams, who has also looked over one of my knives, critique your work is a great way to improve. I am a bit envious of those that get to attend classes. Soak it in, enjoy your class.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the ABS and look forward to attending the April Intro class in Washington. I'd like to ask a few questions to those who have experienced this two week course.

What are the best options for lodging?

Best place for a square meal?

I plan on flying into Little Rock and renting a car. If anyone who reads this is attending the same class, and wants to save some money on a rental car, feel free to reach out to me and let's both save some cash. Any advice for while I'm attending the class would be much appreciated.

As far as advice, bring a notebook. Take notes, sketch what you learn, don't rely on memory. When you get home to your forge refer to your notes. Have fun and remember this is the bases for the much of your bladesmithing career.

Tucker and Kabe let me know when your coming through Little Rock. If the timing works out I wouldn't mind buying either of you a cup of coffee, to get from Little Rock to Washington you will be coming right through my area.

Feel free to text or call. 501-317-5850
