I found it to Be more difficult than I thought.but I know you have to be bad at something before you get better at it.as you may have figured out I haven't forged before.one good thing is I was told by another master smith drink lots of water, and I did.good news! Thank you for the updates Scott and George. Yes, Jim does make it look easy. He was my instructor along with Bert Gaston a long time ago. I have learned a lot from him over the years. Great instructor and friend. Ask him what kind of cheese he really likes.

You will learn a great deal from Master Smith Jim Crowell.
In addition to Kayne and Sons, you need to visit the shop of Cormark International for the most incredible supply of fine exotic and domestic hardwoods. I was there in June and they have the largest inventory of exotic woods that I have ever seen. They are in Weaverville, NC and are 31 miles from Clyde. The address is 179 Reems Creek Road, Weaverville, NC 28787 with telephone 828-658-8455 and email [email protected]
Also, Weaverville is a beautiful town with a GREAT bakery.

So you don't quite get the point or the pinch...
...clay time!
Dan I don't know about the bakery but Cormark and Jason was the next stop. I got several nice pieces of Black Walnut, one big block of Curly Maple, a nice piece of burl, and a bunch more. I believe Scott took half a pickup truck full. LOL On Saturday a visit to Culpepper's for some stag is on my list.
