Any favorite methods for keeping canisters from welding to your billets? Preferably something efficient, so that production rates don't fall. I've noticed that mild steel likes to mostly weld to most every good carbon tool steel in a canister with the presence of kerosene. Anyway thanks ahead of time for any great ideas!

Have a great day.

Erich,

I haven't done it, but I've seen Bladesmiths get good results with White-Out applied to the inside of the canister. I don't know if there is any specific kind involved, just that it required really good coverage.

Some stainless steel heat treating foil also works well just oxidize the face with a plumber's torch. Nothing sticks to that.
