Swords Through The Centuries Ii 'the Dark Ages"

The "Swords Through the Centuries Hammer-In" is an annual event geared towards the art of bladesmithing. In an effort to promote the study of this craft, Falling Hammer Productions/ Dragon's Breath Forge has decided to bring together noted experts in bladesmithing, medieval combat, and collectors of period pieces for the benefit of the blade enthusiast community.

THIS YEAR'S DEMONSTRATIONS:

Blacksmithing demonstrations by distinguished smiths, including:

Pattern welding demonstrations by J.D. Smith, an American Bladesmithing Society Master Bladesmith and instructor at Peter's Valley Crafts School, Penland Craft School, and Massachusetts College of Art.

Jesus Hernandez, a noted bladesmith, will be performing a steel smelt (from ore to workable bar) over the course of the weekend.

Demonstrations of various decorative techniques for embellishing sword and knife fittings by J. Arthur Loose, a former bladesmithing instructor at Peter's Valley Crafts School and jewellery teacher. He is now the proprietor of J. Loose Design.

We have confirmed William Short will be joining us This time again for a expanded talk on Viking culture and weapons, as well as a demonstration of Viking fighting techniques.

Also not yet listed on the web site Peter Swarz Burt will be doing a wootz melt.

As the date gets closer we will be announcing additional demonstrations!Update We now have the web site set up to take registrations, and are offering a discount for registrations received before 8/30

For those on Face book we have a give away going on if you share/like the event page we have set up we will send the first 25 people flashlights!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration for the two-day event includes lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as lunch on Sunday. We recommend that you register in advance, as space is limited and there will be no "at the door" registration. http://dragonsbreathforge.com/hammerin.html

a bit of an update on this years hammer in. J A Loose was forced to back out so we have replaced him with Daniel Riccio , Daniel is a very talented jeweler and sculptor that will be demoing "gravity pour" casting for us.

we have updated the event page with more information along with having the online registration set up.
