  • Watch Master Smiths Aubrey “Barney” Barnes and E. Jay Hendrickson demonstrate the forging of hunting and small utility knives.
  • Learn about plans for the William F. Moran, Jr. Museum & Foundation.
  • See a video showing Bill Moran in “How to Forge a Knife.”
  • Bill Moran’s Classic Book, “Master of the Forge” will be available.
  • Cookies and cider will be served.

    This event is part of the Museums by Candlelight Program in Frederick County, Maryland.

    The purpose of the William F. Moran, Jr. Museum and Foundation is to educate, preserve and promote the ancient art and craft of hand-forged knives and tools used in bladesmithing, and to establish a William F. Moran Museum for the collections and presentation of hand-forged knives and blacksmith metalwork, and to preserve The Moran Shop as a working bladesmith shop.
