It was an almost perfect day here in the Missouri Ozarks and the attending crowd for the hammer-in reflected it. I am quite sure that I've not seen this many spectators watching any hammer-in demonstrations as what we had today. They were lined up four & five deep to see most of them. We held the event in quite a large open air pavilion and the crowd was shoulder to shoulder for much of the day both for the knife show and the demonstrations next door.
I had spectators asking me numerous times throughout the day, "How can I find out when & where this will be held next year.". I hope that this is a sign that custom knives and those who make them are becoming more & more popular.
My thanks to all who were a part of this huge success. I already look forward to next year's event.

That's great news, Gary.
And I concur - we've created a monster.

That's great Gary. I wish I could have made it. It looked like you had some great demonstrations lined up.
Wonderful news, Gary! Thank you for the update.
Great to hear that Gary! Wish I could have made it.

This very encouraging Gary. Karl and I were talking recently about the increase interest in knife making across the country. It's a welcome trend but places a lot of responsibility on those who are viewed as veteran makers. Might be a good subject for a thread of itself.
I should add that Lyle Schow passed his performance test for Journeyman under the watchful eye of Ray Kirk, M.S. He plans on submitting his five knives at Blade, 2018.
Well done, Lyle!
