I thought we would start a thread to see what you guys are bringing and perhaps the features of the Arkansas Custom Knife Show (February 22-23, 2014) that you may have appreciated from past experiences. This might help those who have never been and we get to see some knives to boot.

So what are some must do's and must see's for you?

Lin, Thanks for starting this thread. This will be my first of hopefully many trips to the Arkansas show. I will be bringing my one of my daughters and her husband. "Neither of which have never been to a knife show" I will be bringing 2 bowie's and a couple of Liner lock folders. Sorry I don't have pics.

Must see for me will be the bowie exibition at the museum. Of course all my knife friends.

The friendly atmosphere and abundance of quality makers at this show have long made it my favorite show to be a part of. Lin, Chuck, David and all associated with the show certainly know how to put together an enjoyable weekend for all there. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys custom knives.

Here are a couple that I will have there:

The exhibit "Sure Defense, The Bowie Knife in America" will be open additional hours Saturday evening from 5:00-8:00 pm so that knife show attendees can spend time studying the knives and visiting amidst this unique collection of early "history" of knives. Please take the time to see it then or during regular hours on Thursday and Friday. Don't forget to leave your name and contact information if you want to purchase one of the catalogs documenting the exhibit. Again, this catalog is not out yet and the cost is not determined. This might be a factor when ordering, but I know most of us can safely say whether we want it or not sight unseen. I would not miss it.

I plan on having my first "D" Guard Bowie at the show. It's well underway as we speak.

Thanks Bing and Gary. We look forward to seeing you both and your guests.

I have been to nearly all of the AKA shows and it's one of my favorite shows to attend.

Bing, this is a great show for wives and first-timers -- in fact it's one of my wife's top two shows (unfortunately she has a conflict this year and won't be able to attend). The downtown location is great, it's within a short walk of a ton of restaurants and such, and there's lots of fun shopping for the ladies. Also, the Historic Arkansas Museum has something for everyone -- and admission is free.

Nice looking knives, Gary! You are going to love the Bowie knife exhibit.

I don't have much to add about the catalog other than to say that it's still months from completion, and that the price should be very reasonable for the quality. The photography by Buddy Thomason (and also a few by Chuck Ward) is fantastic, and everyone involved is committed to producing a book worthy of "The Largest and Most Important Bowie Knife Exhibit Ever Assembled".

I plan to be at the exhibit Friday afternoon and Saturday evening to help answer questions and such, and I'm sure Bill Worthen will be there as well.

Even if the classic Bowie knife styles aren't your thing, the exhibit is a must-see while you're in Little Rock. It's just a few blocks from the knife show location, and it's filled with great ideas for knife design, construction, ornamentation, and display. Don't miss it!

This will be a special show indeed. I look forward to seeing your knives Landon. I have seen some wonderful work coming out of Missouri and Tom, you, Bill B. and so many more are a integral part of the show.

If you haven't looked at the new web site, please take a look at it. It is design in a practical way and will be showing some highlights of the up coming show afterward.

Well - I'll post one.

This is a San Mai hunter with silky oak and wrought iron.

I should have 5-6 knives to fondle.
