This is a reminder that the Knife Group Association will be having its tenth custom knife show this year on Mar 2, 2013, this Saturday.  It is being held in Norman, OK at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds.  Since this is the tenth show, we have decided to make it a FREE Show for every one.  Similar to Gary Mulkeys show in Branson, MO, we will be having forging and knife grinding demos through out the day.

If possible, we would like a donation to help defray the costs this year.  We will be having silent auctions and iron in the hat drawings in the afternoon on even hours, 2, 4, and at the end of the day.

This is a great chance for all to bring their children or grandchildren out to see how knives were made many years ago by the local craftsman.

Forging the knives or stock removal, the methods are many and most result in a superior finished product.  There is also the pride of owning a knife made by the person selling it.  Makers take pride in the knives they make and it shows in the final workmanship displayed at the show.  This show is for hand made knives and supplies and is open to all makers, collectors, and will have for the first time, tables for tail gate sales are included in the knife show.

The street address is 615 E. Robinson in Norman, OK. The show will be open from 9:00 AM till 6:00 PM.  Those that wish to enter their knives for judging must have them at the judging table by 8:00 so the judges can have time to do their job.  This year the judges will be Brion Tomberlin, Troy Brown, and myself, Ray Kirk.

Brion and I will also be doing some knife forging outside, weather permitting, during the day till around 4:00 PM.  That will give the forge a couple hours to cool off before loading.  A grinding demo is possible as we may have the factory representative from Burr King on hand to show his products.

There will be a snack bar for food and drinks.

Looking forward to having a great time with some good demos and some beautiful knife work by a large group of talented artists.
