This is a YouTube video of the "practice" JS Bend Test of ABS Apprentice Smith Frederic Petit of New Jersey and it is in French. Master Smith Jim Batson sent this YouTube video link to me yesterday. Frederic is an MD from Belgium and now lives in the USA. He took the Introduction to Bladesmithing class at the New England School of Metalwork in Auburn, Maine and Master Smith Tim Potier was his instructor.
Good job Frederic!

Thank you Dan but i'd like to had a small rectification, Tim Potier was my instructor in Main but I send the video to Jim Batson because as friend, instructor and mentor I like to to have his opinion on my work. Thank you Jim to share this video with ABS. I hope it will help apprentices like me to practice with confidence and some anxiety as well the performance test Because it's so much fun when we succeed......
Hi,
i'm Vero, new journemansmith from Belgium
Dan Cassidy asked me to translate some words of fred's video
Fred explains to his wife that the blade has to be bended to 90°.
He asks to his wife to say to him when the tube is on 90°.
When it's done he is surprise to see that the blade is so bended and try to go further.
And finally he says : that's amasing.
I hope that the translating in English is ok because i speak french and try to learn and speak English
Good luck to fred
Have nice day
