So yes I have three years before I can test for JS, not to mention get the skills for it. I'm wondering, who is the youngest smith to have earned JS? Is that a title even?
Journeyman Smith is a title/certification. I believe there are less than 200 of them practicing world wide. I have no idea who the youngest one is. Remember that if you take the intro class your time requirement drops to just 2 years.

No intro course north of the border <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//angry.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//angry.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> but I don't mind waiting <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//tongue.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
The list is short for all , AS JS and MS in Canada, in a few years I hope to make the list a little bit longer <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Sally just ran the ABS membership report calculations and as of today, August 4, 2014, we have 1,255 active ABS members in 18 countries. Our numbers change on almost a daily basis as we have new members joining almost daily. Sally, Cindy, and I receive an email every time a new member joins the ABS, or a member renews their membership.

Huh. But no record of a youngest?
Caleb
The ABS membership records which are in a database completely separate from the ABS Forum do not contain any member's date of birth. The membership system has and displays the year that a member became a Journeyman or Master Smith but not their age when they earned the rating.

Ah ok that makes sense. Thank you.
Josh Smith, passed at age 15 in 1996. He then passed his Ms test at the age of 19. His website says he was the youngest for both.
