Paul Widenhoefer passed his Journeyman Smith Performance Test this evening at the Heartland Hammer-In at Washburn Technical Institute in Topeka, Kansas. The JS Performance Test was administered by Master Smith Steve Culver and observed by numerous ABS members including Master Smiths Mike Williams, Brion Tomberlin, and Ray Kirk.

I had the pleasure of watching as MS Steve Culver tested Paul for his js performance. Paul's knife cut very well. The blade was all that a js blade should be, pretty thin, hard, and very tough. The 2x4's were hard, it went through the rope like it wasn't there, and it made a nice even bend with no sign of a crack.
