New ABS Journeyman Smith

I want to congratulate Jesse Steele who is our newest Journeyman Smith in the American Bladesmith Society. Jesse had his knives judged by the ABS Judging Panel today in Kansas City, MO at the 2015 ICCE show and was awarded his Journeyman Smith rating by ABS Chairman Harvey Dean and BR Hughes.

Congratulations Jesse!

Missed you at the Troy hammer-in.

I know what you were doing now! Working on those knives.

Congratulations Jesse -- can I call you "the man of Steele"?

I mentioned at the ceremony the 19th century knifemaker who worked near where you live -- his name was Henry Hunter. Drop me a note if you'd ever like to know more about him.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the encouragement I have received. I couldn't have reached this point without the shared knowledge of others at the ABS hammer-ins.

Congratulations Jesse. I enjoyed meeting you and the accomplishment is due to your fine work. The one you showed me was very well executed and designed. Well done.

Congratulations Jesse, Butch and I are so proud of you. Happy your dad was able to make the trip with you and share the experience. It was great to get to visit at this show and we will see you at next year's Mid American.
