I was recently involved in a discussion about the time period one has to spend as a JS before being elligible to test for MS and I found a two-year mark on the ABS website under testing. Is this still the case? I had some vague memory about it being reduced, but erred on the side of caution and went with the two years.

Yes, the wait period as a Journeyman Smith of two (2) years before being eligible to test for the Master Smith rating remains the same.
The rule that did change was for JS candidates. The ABS Board voted at the 2015 Atlanta Board meeting to eliminate the "Three Strikes" rule for JS candidates. There had been a rule for JS candidates that they only had three opportunties to have their presentation knives judged by the JS Judging panel. This rule was considered by the Board to be inconsistent with our mission of education and learning and was therefore eliminated.
