Joshua, I've seen those barricade packets before. What a great idea, almost impossible to put too much on. Thanks a bunch.
Ed, you said the knife transport method that Kevin outlined won't work for me, would you suggest then just shipping them down but do it a couple days ahead of time to give that buffer zone for delay? Is there only one day of judging? Or is there ever exception made for knives en route at judge time?
And thanks for all the replies everyone. I've garnered way more from this thread than i bargained for.

I think Ed meant that putting an actual gun in the case to double down on the security will not work for you. I think my suggestion will still work, in fact I have found that airports will treat just a firearm case pretty much the same as a legal firearm as far as security. Just the case has allowed me to use my own padlock every time, along with the special inspections, and many times I have had to stop them from red tagging (special fire arms tag on the case) before they even looked inside. It may be different in Canada however, the U.S. TSA is fairly neurotic about things anymore, but I have still had my share of bizarre moments dealing with Canadian officials in all sorts of things.

I want to clarify a point I was making above. Once you get the thumbs up by several MS that each of your five knives are good to go, please don't let many people, no matter who, open the case and handle them once they are committed. This is just advice. Not to be taken as anything else. Thanks
As for the international shipping of a "firearm" I think any pellet pistol (air actuated) is not legally a "firearm" but is legal to posses in all 50 US states and the EU (I don't know about Canada). I know some guys have thrown a .177 cal. pellet pistol in the case with their knives. As far as TSA is concerned, if it looks like a gun, it is a firearm and will be treated as such.
