Smoky Mountain Youth Hammer-In

Young participants will again have an opportunity to forge their own blades in 2010. During the June 18, 19 and 20, 2010 weekend. One-on-one instruction under the direction of an experienced American Bladesmith Society Master Smith, Journeyman Smith, or Apprentice Smith will again be offered at this year's Smoky Mountain Youth Hammer-In at and hosted by Smoky Mountain Knife Works, Sevierville, TN.

It will be open to participants between the ages of 9 and 16, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and will feature hands-on forging and finish work.

Registration Fee: $55.00

Safety Equipment:

Your safety is important. Please wear leather shoes or work boots ( no tennis shoes), cotton shirts, and long cotton pants, work apron, and leather work gloves that fit your hands. We will provide safety glasses. Feel free to bring your favorite hammer and tongs.
