Thank you all for your encouragement. During the last three years at the Blade Show, the "Bladesmithing for Kids" has sparked a lot of interest by the youth and and parents. When asked for questions the main concern has been where can my son or daughter attend a youth hammer-in close to where we live. In the past, only one youth hammer-in was offered, at Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Tennessee. It is my understanding that Next year a Youth hammer-in will be offered at each of the four ABS schools in the USA during the summer months. I appreciate your support and will be looking forward to working with you fellow bladesmiths as demonstrators and mentors in the years ahead to encourage our young knife enthusiasts in hands on understanding of the art of the forged blade. This was Mr. Bill Moran's Legacy, and ABS Chairman, Joe Keeslar has seen to make it a high priority for 2015.

By chance I recognized the age of the exhibitors and members in the ABS section at the Bladeshow and it is none too late to see our youth involved and added to our ranks.

Yes, Tim will do a great job and do it with the usual Tim Potier enthusiasm. But please remember, he cannot do it alone. We need experienced volunteers to work with the youth at these events. Please don’t hesitate to offer your help and your time. This is a great opportunity for the youth, but we need many to make it successful.
