Hello everyone. It is that time of year again. The Spring Piney Woods Hammer In at Old Washington will be here before we know it. Here are the flyers for that event.

B.R. Hughes has a great lineup for this one, if I do say so myself. Always a good time and a lot of information at these events. Mark it in your calendars and I look forward to seeing everyone.

Sounds like a great line up. Brion, will you be teaching the same class on both days or will it be a continuation of the Saturday class?

Actually Matthew, I have been thinking about that. Saturday will be my basic demo on hamons, steel selection, methods, clay application, quenching, etc. Sunday I will probably go more in depth with some history of hamons, ways to polish your blade, possibly interrupted quenches. So it would probably be worth sticking around for the Sunday session if you like hamons.

The tough problem is when you want to do all three of the 3:00 classes on Saturday!

The Hammer-In is NEXT weekend. B.R. Hughes has set up a great set of demos.

All of you who are going for a stamp in ATL or KC this is a great opportunity to have your knives looked over by several experienced smiths and have time for corrections to be made. Having your work critiqued before presenting to the panel is almost a mandatory thing.

I may make a slight change in my handles section and go over the steps necessary to center cut and center taper stag and ivory in a way that is pretty easy and doesn't waste a high dollar piece of material.

As we have the last several years; Brion and I would like to invite all the new folks; lost characters, and the average dud to have supper with us Fri. eve. We usually go to the BBQ joint.

Gather up about 6 around back of the Best Western. Look for trucks with OK lic. plates!!!

See you there. Drive safe.

Hi all,

I closed pre-registration for the Spring Piney Woods today, never fear though, all are welcome and there is plenty of room, so just register at the door. Please bring cash or checks for your registration and anything you may want to buy at the auction or DVDs and books. There is very little cell reception while on site, so we can't take credit cards.

There is always a knife give-away at the Piney Woods events to a registered participant, I heard this year it is a knife by Master Smith Mike Williams. Very awesome to have a chance at that, wish we could be there.

Don't forget to bring your auction donations, the auction helps pay the expenses and keeps the registration costs down.

Hope you all have a great time!! Travel safe.
